Gas grills can be powered either by propane or natural gas. If you use propane you have to refill the tank. However, natural gas does not require a tank.
Gas grills that use natural gas are also more efficient. However, some people still swear by propane. One of the most famous icons for propane use is Hank Hill, the main character of King of the Hill, a Fox TV Series that has been running for years. Hank Hill is a propane salesman and swears by all things propane.
If you don't take Hank Hill's word for it, get some advice from a retailer. Typically propane grills have been less expensive, but would cost of gas rising in today's energy crisis the decision is harder to make. While a natural gas grill may make for a larger initial investment it may be less expensive to use in the long run.
